Mothership
(2020- ongoing)
An abandoned spacecraft rests where it should not exist: stranded on Earth or arrived from a forgotten world orbiting a distant star. Its hull is covered in cryptic markings, traces of a language that seems simultaneously familiar and unknowable. Are these signs a message sent by our descendants and lost to time, or fragments of an alien civilization's vanished vocabulary?
Mothership explores this imagined future archaeology through pen, ink, and paper. Drawing from the visual languages of code, signal, writing, and symbolic systems, the work invents a lexicon suspended between communication and mystery. Each mark hints at meaning without ever fully revealing it.
Through this practice,
Mothership
asks a fundamental question: how do we read what we do not understand? The project examines the human impulse to search for patterns, narratives, and messages in the unknown, transforming the spaceship's surface into a site where memory, speculation, and interpretation collide.
